I have been a fan of Clive and all his works ever since the first time I watched Hellraiser back on my 16th birthday. At the time what attracted me most to the movies themselves was the fact that my father looked alot like Pinhead..only without the pins. I love the intricate details of his books (read "In the Hills, the Cities") and short stories. If you haven't read any of his short stories or novels, I suggest you do so.
Hellraiser 1 and 2 will always be my favorites in the series. I think that parts 3 and 4 shouldn't have been made. Alot of other fans will agree to this as well. Pinhead didn't look as evil and started in with the ever-lame 'one liners'. That is always the beginning of a characters demise when they are stuck with one-liners.
Now there are rumors about the making a part 5. Clive Barker has already stated that he will have nothing to do with the movie. I'm not sure when it is going to be released yet. Don't expect to see Pinhead in this one. There are talks that Pinhead isn't going to even be in the movie. But you never know. I am going to look into this a little more! I will keep you all informed about the progress of the movie when I learn more.
I just read that there will be a Hellraiser 5 and part 6.  They are going to filmed back to back.  They are currently re-writing part 6 because the first 'treatment' for p5 was disapproved and pretty much everyone involved was fired.  So far, the basic story line will be the Cenobites battling Angels of some sort.  Sounds interesting enough.  And of course, Pinhead will make an appearance in p5, but will not be a prominate character since they are trying to take the 'Cenobite' story in a different direction.  We shall see......
